Where the Cordillera Septentrional falls into the Atlantic, life slows to the rhythm of the tide. Mornings begin with coffee grown in the hills above the house; afternoons end barefoot on the sand. Las Tres Casitas is a home from which to live all of it — for a week, a season, or a whole new chapter.
The neighbourhood
Costambar is Puerto Plata's quiet secret — a green, gated seaside village where Dominican families and residents from around the world share one golden beach. Mango and almond trees shade the lanes, golf carts outnumber cars, and everyone waves.
Days here are simple: a swim before breakfast, fresh fish at a beach shack for lunch, dominoes and merengue drifting from the colmado at dusk. The village has its own restaurants, mini-markets, tennis courts and a nine-hole golf course — everything you need, nothing you don't.
The city
Ten minutes east lies one of the Caribbean's oldest cities — founded in 1502, wrapped in Victorian gingerbread houses, amber museums and an oceanfront malecón made for evening strolls.
The mountains
Behind the casitas the Cordillera Septentrional climbs into cloud forest. Hike the trails of Isabel de Torres National Park, ride horseback through cacao and coffee farms, or simply watch the mist burn off the peaks each morning with a cup of mountain-grown café.
Rivers & nature
The rivers of Puerto Plata province tumble out of the hills through canyons of turquoise limestone. At Damajagua you climb, slide and leap through 27 natural pools; at Cabarete's caves you swim beneath the earth itself.
Between December and March, humpback whales gather off the north shore in one of the world's great marine migrations. The rest of the year belongs to reef snorkelling, mangrove lagoons at Estero Hondo and the sea-turtle sanctuaries of the Amber Coast.

Stay
Three private houses in a shared tropical garden, each with its own terrace, hammock and outdoor kitchen — rented singly, or together for family gatherings of up to twelve.
Short & long term
Las Tres Casitas welcomes both holiday guests and long-term residents. Nightly and weekly stays include housekeeping, linens, fast Wi-Fi and a stocked welcome kitchen. Monthly stays add utilities, gardener and a local mobile line — many of our guests arrive for two weeks and stay for two years.
Seasonal rates apply December – April. Discounts for stays over three months.
